The Edinburg Accident

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS), a man was struck and killed by a car in Edinburg on Monday, January 8, at around 9:52 p.m. The accident occurred on State Highway 107 west of North Sharp Road.

Prior to the accident, a woman was driving westbound in a white 2021 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport in the inside lane of SH 107. At the same time, a man started to cross the road in front of the vehicle, failing to yield the right of way. As a result, the man was struck.

The Mitsubishi driver did stop to render aid. The man, who has since been identified as a 43-year-old Edinburg resident, succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

An investigation into this incident by DPS remains ongoing.
