Major Edinburg Truck Accident Leaves 2 Injured

In Edinburg on January 22, a major collision involving a truck left two drivers injured. The Edinburg Truck Accident

According to officials, two people were injured on Monday, January 22, in an accident in Edinburg. The accident happened at around 1:30 p.m. near the intersection of Raul Longoria Road and Wisconsin Road.

The accident involved a dark-colored Ford F-250 and a USPS van. Following the accident, the drivers of both vehicles were taken to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Both Wisconsin and Raul Longoria Roads were open for traffic by about 3 p.m.

How Are Truck Accidents Different From Car Accidents?

Furthermore, while just about 40% of all passenger car fatalities happened in rural areas, 60% of truck accident fatalities happened in rural regions. This goes to show that truck accidents are both more common and more deadly in rural areas of Texas.

Of course, the statistics are even more stark when it comes to semi-truck accidents. Again, while less than half of one percent of passenger car accidents lead to a fatality, nearly 2% of all semi-truck accidents are fatal. That means that semi-truck accidents are about four times deadlier than passenger car accidents, and about twice as deadly as pickup truck accidents.
