One Person Arrested in Connection With an Auto-Pedestrian Collision
Pharr police responded to the scene of a deadly auto-pedestrian collision on Thursday, February 23. The crash occurred at the intersection of South Jackson Road and Ridge Road.
The body of a man was found at the scene of the incident.
The preliminary investigation revealed that the man had been struck by a white 2001 Chevrolet Silverado truck. The driver of the truck and a second vehicle involved in the accident failed to stop and render aid.
The driver of the Silverado was a 19-year-old from San Juan who was arrested on charges of an accident involving personal injury or death.

Failure to stop and render aid is the official name used to refer to a hit-and-run, which can be either a pedestrian or a party in another vehicle.
