Bicyclist Dies After a Hit-and-Run on the Southeast Side of San Antonio

A bicyclist died after being struck by a vehicle in a hit-and-run incident at around 2 a.m. on Friday, May 19th. A passing motorist found the man near the bicycle in the middle of Roland Avenue near Pecan Valley Drive.

Paramedics began life-saving measures as soon as they arrived at the scene, but were unable to revive the victim. The man was pronounced dead at the scene. 

Investigators have said that it appears the man was hit by a vehicle but the suspect fled the scene without stopping to render aid or call for help. 

The investigation is ongoing.

• If you must ride at night or when visibility is low, wear a reflective vest or brightly colored clothing and use lights to help make it easier to see you from a distance.
