Man Arrested Following a Fatal Motorcycle Crash Near Val Verde Flea Market
The Donna Police Department has charged a 33-year-old man from Alamo with intoxication manslaughter after a fatal collision in Donna that resulted in the death of a motorcyclist. The crash occurred at around 7 a.m. on Wednesday, June 14th, at the 1000 block of Business 83, just west of Val Verde Road.
According to Donna police, the driver failed to yield the right-of-way to a motorcycle that was traveling eastbound on the same road when he attempted to turn into the Val Verde Flea Market. The collision resulted in the death of the 41-year-old motorcyclist.
Officers on the scene said they smelled alcohol from the vehicle and observed signs of intoxication in the driver. Blood analysis is pending and the driver is expected in court soon.
